Comune Moncalvo<\/h2>\n\t\t\tMedieval village nestled among the hills of Monferrato, Moncalvo is known to be the smallest city in Italy, rich in enogastronomic and cultural traditions. Thanks to its strategic hilltop location, it became one of the main fortresses of Monferrato, passing through the hands of the Marquises of Monferrato, the Gonzaga family, and the Savoy family over the centuries. Even today, the streets of the city center preserve examples of historic palaces dating back to the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.\n\nIn the main square, besides a charming belvedere, two particular buildings can be found: the historic 19th-century theater, still in use today, and the ancient synagogue.
