Agricultural and Agritourism Experience
Cascina Baronina originates from our family's idea of embarking on a new agricultural and agritourism experience by reclaiming uncultivated lands and restoring the historic villa. The estate spans 30 hectares, mostly cultivated with hazelnut trees and a few rows of Barbera DOC vines.
The History
The planting of the sixth began by accurately marking the distance between the hazelnut trees, five meters apart, and continued manually with the planting of the hazelnut trees and soil fertilization. Since 2022, the entire production of our Tonda Gentile Trilobata hazelnuts has the certification of "Nocciola Piemonte I.G.P.," a highly specific variety of hazelnuts grown exclusively in Piedmont, particularly in the hills of Langhe, Roero, and Monferrato. Tonda Gentile Trilobata is considered the best hazelnut in the world, a precious fruit with a delightful flavor, born and grown in a unique and generous land of excellent products. Harvesting takes place from mid-August to early September when the fruits reach full maturity and naturally detach from the husks, falling to the ground, ensuring high yield during shelling and excellent product quality. Completing the beautiful natural setting is the presence of a pond fed by spring water from the territory, which hosts various biodiversity, including herons, migratory birds, turtles, and lake fish.Naturalistic and Historical Respect
As the historic name suggests, Cascina Baronina is a traditional residence that has always been a landmark in the territory of the first hills of Monferrato. The environmental and architectural recovery project, lasting almost a decade, has been carried out with total respect for the natural and historical aspects of the farmhouse, from the ancient tiled roofs to the classic Monferrato tufo stone, from the exposed brick frames to the use of local "beole" stones. The process of revaluation was done with care and passion to reclaim and enhance the materials and beauties of the place.
